Welcome to the Future

This is our tenth online advent calendar. This inspires us to look back at some things we introduced ten years ago and and to look forward to the future.

Solarimpulse: Who could have foreseen ten years ago, that an airplane could really fly exclusively powered by solar energy. This year we know that it is possible. Dubendorf airport (Zurich), June 26, 2009 - Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg unveiled today at Dubendorf airport near Zurich Solar Impulse HB-SIA, a prototype of the first airplane which can fly nonstop day and night without fossil fuel and without producing toxic pollution.
:: Let this inspire you to a vision of the future

Transparency in energy costs: Another project which was finally implemented this year is GEAK, Cantonal Building-Energy Certificate. GEAK clearly identifies and communicates the energy quality of a building. It is relevant for house owners who are interested in buying or renting an object. GEAK is instrumental in showing potential energy costs of a building and provides very useful information in case of renovation. This building certificate makes visible the improvement potential of construction technique and of the building envelope.
:: At GEAKs website you can fill out a questionnaire at GEAK Light.
