Universal Health Promotion Today on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities we present the “Procap Bewegt” project (“Procap Moves”).
Prevention and health promotion are important for people with disabilities as much as for people without them. They are possibly even more important, because health limitation play a greater role in their life. For example nursing and care of overweight persons is much more difficult.
A “healthy weight” contributes to the health of everyone involved: the person with disabilities and their respective nurses and carers. Procap Sport encourages the physical activity of people with handicaps.
30 regional sport groups are involved in these activities, including active vacations during the week and weekend courses in the country and abroad, as well as national movement and meeting days. Procap's motto is “moving together for a better life together”. Procap Sport is celebrating its 50 year anniversary 2010 as a Sport Federation for Handicapped Persons. :: More about the activities of Procap Sport (in German) Procap Sport together with Swiss Balance started the project “Procap Bewegt”.
