Santa's on his way... After Santa Claus finishes visiting children on the 5th and 6th of December in the Netherlands, Switzerland and in southern Germany, he relaxes for a few days before he goes to the North Pole via Scandinavia. On Christmas Eve he will then travel with his raindeer-propelled sleigh to North America to visit the children. Copenhagen is a busy place these days. So many activists, journalists and politicians are in the city. Santa does not interfere with world politics. But, as an entrepeneur of a small company, Saint Nicholas contributes a lot to climate protection. He transports tangerines, peanuts, etc. per train, his raindeer run on biofuel (grass, moss and lichen) and he uses the red carsharing systems in isolated places. He was one of the first customers of Green Power and he only uses FSC certified paper and he only buys Topten- appliances. He saved a lot of money this way. If only he didn't give it all away to the children ! Santa Claus decided to share his knowledge with other entrepreneurs. He wants to help other small businesses discover their environmental potential, thereby saving money. In Zurich, for example, Santa established a branch of «Eco Compass» and trained 10 independent consultants. These visit the companies on site and give advice on where there could be energy leaks, what can be recycled and how environmental projects can be funded. Their motto is «If it's good for the environment – it's good for business». :: To EcoCompass' homepage - with a short film and a lot of information for small businesses (German) EcoCompass is a service provided by the city of Zurich as part of it's efforts to become a 2000 watt society" :: More about the 2000 watt society Help Santa Claus !
