solar power is booming ...

According to the coordinating association Swissolar about 30 % of the electricity needs could be produced from solar power installations if all suited roofs were used. Edisun Power, the largest Swiss solar power producer, operates solar power installations in Switzerland, Germany and Spain and thereby contributes significantly to solar power supply.

Profitability and political frame conditions. Edisun Power invests where it is most economic. Therefore the firm will put its main emphasis abroad, in spite of the cost recovery reimbursement, which is given in Switzerland as of October 2008: In Switzerland the demand for contracts for this cost recovery reimbursement is likely to be about be 15 times higher than the volume that actually can be approved - according to Robert Kröni, manager of Edisun Power.
