comforting warmth coming from the cold!

The use of renewable energies is in future compulsory also for the hotel industry. An innovative energy project in St. Moritz shows that hotel guests will not have to suffer. The Badrutt Palace maintains a leading position in the hotel business and at the same time a pioneering role in environment protection.
>> «Go Green» in the Badrutt

The water of lake St. Moritz makes it possible. The use of the latest technology and the cooperation with the Zürich Power Plant (EWZ) helps to reduce three quarters of the fuel consumption: replacing it by sustainable energy sources. So the atmosphere of selected luxury in comforting warmth may be enjoyed while maintaining a sustainable lifestile. And all this surrounded by breath-taking unspoiled land-scape.
>> Warmth from the cold: it functions like this

To heat with water from a lake on 1750 m above sea level: By this measure the hotel covers 80 % und the Grevas school 70 % of its entire energy needs and saves 475'000 liters of fuel each year. The CO2 emission is reduced by 80%. This leads to a considerable and sustainable improvement of air quality in the unique tourism region of Engadin. It also contributes to reduce global warming. This energy supply project (in cooperation with Zürich power) received in 2007 the «Swiss Mountain Water Award».
