Discover the Nogal Project in Costa Rica!

In the village Nogal in Costa Rica Chiquita and Migros cooperate to promote biodiversity.

A river, a banana plantation and the village of Nogal – in this vicinity the rain forest reserve of Nogal is found. Here Chiquita and Migros have launched, in 2004, the «Nogal Nature & Community Project». It promotes biodiversity of animals and plants in the rain forest.

To strengthen environment consciousness in the region Nogal employees each year show hundreds of visitors why it is important to take care of the rain forest.

Chiquita and Migros also are active in social activities. The Nogal project supports the local population in identifying additional sources of income. Todays many get some extra revenues by painting self made paper or by producing natural cosmetic products from bananas.
